Hack to Enable Aero Shake on Windows in Vista and XP

It's a new feature in Windows 7 that enables user to minimize all unfocused and inactivate windows in the background at once simply by shaking a window that user wants to work on with mouse gesture (click on the window title bar, hold and move back and forth). And then by shaking on the window again, all minimized window will be restored reopened to its last opened location and state.

Main feature of AeroShake is of course, enable users to left-click and hold on a window’s title bar and “shake” it back and forth to minimize all other windows. Do so again, all these windows that get minimized to taskbar will magically restore to its original position, and in their original sequences of layer from front to back too. This is the main usage instruction for AeroShake too.

AeroShake is written and developed in AutoHotKey code by bobbo33. The latest version of 1.4 was compiled by MDL for the benefit of reader. AeroShake has a few configuration options that users can tweak to get the best result. The options available include distance (how far the mouse has to travel to count as one “shake” - if the mouse has to move too much reduce this value), count (number of shakes has to occur before action is taken), title bar height (vertical distance from the top of the selected window that is monitored for shakes), Minimize All monitors here (whether to minimize windows on all monitors on shake), and Quick Minimize (set whether minimization occurred with animation or not). All settings can be changed on the AeroShake.ini configuration file accessible via Settings right click context menu of AeroShake icon on Notification Area (System Tray).

Aero Shake and Aero Peek Features in Windows 7

Aero Shake allows user to quickly and instantly minimize all other non-active windows that sit in the background by just shaking the application window, and at the same time experiencing a seizure in your hand. To bring back the desktop to previous state with windows open back, shake the sole window again. To use Aero Shake to minimize all inactive windows to Taskbar (or Superbar), user can click and hold on to a window’s title bar that he or she wants to continue work on, and then move the window to left and to right (shake) a few times (two times or move). The feature is probably one of the feature to support mouse gesture by Microsoft. See the demo video below.

Windows 7 also feature another presentation technology called Aero Peek. Aero Peek improves on Windows 7 Superbar thumbnail previews, and allows user to view, close and switch between multiple application windows by just hovering over the Taskbar thumbnail. It also allows users to pin program to Taskbar permanently, with a mini-Start Menus for all pinned items or most common destination and most common tasks, dubbed as Jump Lists. Windows 7 Build 6936 Screenshots

Microsoft was using Windows 7 build 6933 for presentation during PDC event, while giving out only Windows 7 build 6801, which still has tons of features removed, disabled, locked or haven’t added in, causing hackers to scramble to come out with crack to patch and unlock the hidden features in Windows 7.

Apparently somebody has managed to install Windows 7 build 6936 (6.1.6936), a version that even higher and newer than Windows 7 build 6933 used in PDC. Unfortunately, there is not leaked Windows 7 build 6936 ISO image via HTTP, torrent or ED2K networks yet, but there are a few beautiful screenshoots and screen captures of the Windows 7 build 6936, while waiting for the beta of Windows 7 to be released (or leaked).

If you’ve looking at screenshots of Windows 7 build 6.1.6936, you probably will notice that there is a new wallpaper been used as the desktop background. The wallpaper is aqua themed and has a fish swimming towards the rays of sun. Anybody who likes the wallpaper or the photo itself can download the image in full resolution for free.

Send Unlimited Free SMS Text Messages from iPhone and iPod Touch

Here’s a guide on how to use iPhone and iPhone 3G (and also other Internet-connected device such as iPod Touch, Windows Mobile smartphone, and even PC or MAC) to send free text messages or SMS, primarily to cell phone numbers in US and Canada.

txtDrop.com

txtDrop offers free web based text messaging for free to various carriers in US and Canada such as Verizon Wireless, AT&T formerly Cingular Wireless, Sprint PCS, Nextel, T-Mobile, Alltel, Cellular One, Fido, Rogers Wireless, Bell Canada, Dobson, Unicell, Boost Mobile, Cellular South, Edge Wireless, Metro PCS, Suncom, Virgin Mobile and Centennial Wireless. To use texDrop to send text messages for free, run iPhone or iPod Touch browser, and browse to the following URL:

http://www.txtdrop.com/iphone

Text recipient can replies, and the reply will go to sender’s email address entered. Note that the device must have Internet connection to use this trick, either via WiFi, GPRS, Edge, 3G or other data plan.

DurgleSender

DurgleSender is an iPhone webapp that allows user to send text messages to anyone on any US network. DurgleSender send texts using WiFi or EDGE and does not take away from the monthly iPhone text allotment. Enter the 10-digit mobile number of whomever you want to text, pick their carrier, your return info and send a text.

Access DurgleSender at http://iphone.durgle.com/apps/sender/

TeleFlip

The privacy policy of TeleFlip says plainly that it may sells your information to third party such as partners, bankers and advertisers for spamming purpose, and numerous users complain that the service is unreliable. If you don’t mind about service quality (it’s free after all) and spam (well, they pays for free text service after all), TeleFlip offers a more text messaging-like interface, using Mail HTML rich email client interface in iPhone and iPod Touch.

To send a text SMS to a mobile phone or fixed line phone supporting SMS capability in US or Canada, simply sends an email to @teleflip.com, the intended text message in email body.

For example, the following format of email address to TeleFlip is valid and will work:

3105551212@teleflip.com
(310)555-1212@teleflip.com
310-555-1212@teleflip.com

TeleFlip works regardless of recipients’ handset or carrier, all e-mail will be redirected to recipient’s mobile phone. And users can also send the text message via TeleFlip website by entering destination cell phone number, e-mail address and password (on first time for registration purpose only). Best of all, recipients can reply via SMS to the sender who will receive the reply in email.

Note that however some mobile network service provider may charge a fee, especially to recipients, even though TeleFlip service is free.

..................................................................

Note that to send and receive email in iPhone and iPod Touch, user has to set up an email account on the device first. Apple has a guide on how to doing the setup. If you don’t have any IMAP or POP3/SMTP supported email server , AT&T subscribers can use the free AT&T outgoing mail server (cwmx.com without any user name or password on standard port of 25 and no SSL), although user won’t be able to receive any reply of SMS text message via email, and it works only while using an EDGE connection.

  1. Create a new email message.
  2. In the To: box, type recipient_cell_number@teleflip.com in 10 digits including area code. For example, 1234567890@teleflip.com.
  3. Type a message to send to your friend, colleague or family member.
  4. Tap on Send.
  5. The email sent will be delivered and routed through TeleFlip Email-to-Txt gateway to recipient cell phone, and any reply will be sent to sender as an email.

AIM Instant Messaging Client and iChat

AOL offers users of AIM free SMS services to US cell phones. So with AIM client for iPhone and iChat, it’s possible to send free text messages directly from AIM client.

Another possible workaround to send free SMS from iPhone is for users who are using AIM (AOL Instant Messenger). Best of all, the trick to send free text messages via AIM and iChat works on iPod Touch too, as long as it has Internet connectivity via WiFi etc.

To send free SMS text messages via AIM in iPhone or iPod Touch, follow these steps:

  1. Download and install AIM client for iPhone from the App Store, either in iTunes or iPhone.
  2. Open iChat (or any other instant messaging client used in the mobile device), create a new buddy contact, and set his or her AIM address as his or her complete cellphone number (with country and area code) preceding with a plus sign (+). For example, +12065550551.

3. On the iPhone, run AIM client. Once connected to the AIM service, the AIM client will load the stored buddy list from AIM’s server , and also reveal the new AIM contact with cell phone number created via iChat.
4. Tap the buddy name that want to send text messages to, then compose the text message, and tap Send to send out the SMS.
5. If there is any reply from the recipient, the return message will appear in AIM client
....................................................................................................

Mobile Network Operator or Carrier Free Email to Text Service

Some mobile network operator or cellular service carrier offers free service that deliver any email sent to the mail alias of the cellphone number as text message to the mobile phone , in service commonly known as MobileMail or SMSemail. Here’s a listing of mobile service operator that supports free email-to-text delivery, with the format of recipient email address. Again, to send free unlimited text messages via email, an e-mail account has to be configured in iPhone, iPod Touch, desktop PC, notebook/laptop computer, Windows Mobile device, smart phone and etc.

Alltel: number@message.alltel.com
AT&T: number@txt.att.net
Verizon Wireless: number@vtext.com
Nextel: 10digits@messaging.nextel.com
T-Mobile USA: number@tmomail.net
US Cellular: number@email.uscc.net
Virgin Mobile USA: number@vmobl.com
Metro PCS: number@mymetropcs.com
Unicel: number@utext.com
Cellular South: number@csouth1.com
Cincinnati Bell: number@gocbw.com
Southern Linc: number@page.southernlinc.com
Bell Mobility Canada: number@txt.bellmobility.ca
Telus Mobility: number@msg.telus.com

Some of the network operators also provides web interface or WebSMS or InternetSMS services, however the page may not be optimized for iPhone, iPod Touch or other mobile devices. For example, Centennial Wireless.

Instead of remembering all the @address for all cellular network, if you opt to send free SMS via this method, it’s recommended to add additional email address just for the purpose of sending text messages to contacts in the address box.

Cloned Apple iPod Alike PMP with Extra FM Transmitter Function

Here are some extra values being integrated by Chinese manufacturer to satisfy those consumers that are looking for more features at even cheaper price. Ovito Electronics Co. has just unveiled an 2G iPod alike gadget that support similar features offered by original product. In order to make it more attractive, the manufacturer has put in an additional FM transmitter module for music streaming wirelessly to the car stereo system.

The model, known as M1813B, is featured with 1.8-inch TFT LCD screen which is standard in most of the PMP (Portable Media Player). It imitates the sleek design of existing Apple’s iPod well but I am doubt if it has the same finishing on the physical appearance. The most eyes catching are the protruding chrome antenna that looks exactly like an ordinary antenna for radio receiver. This has again able to differentiate itself from original Apple’s product.

Apple’s iPod is famous in consumer market due to its stylish outlook and popular brand name. While the basic feature of storing and playing songs may not suit your need.

It does support different audio/video codec ranging from MP3, WMA and WAV for music playback. Besides, it further enables AMV video playing to ensure that it is up to the market requirement. No pricing info has been released but it would definitely cheaper than original iPod product even with the additional feature sets.

In the Bootneuter settings, click Neuter bootloader, Unlock baseband, and Auto-Delete BootNeuter.app. It is not necessary to upgrade the bootloader unless you are really feeling the need to be on 4.6. Click the blue arrow button to continue.

- Jailbreak 2G/3G (QuickPwn Mac) (Unsafe for 3G if you want to unlock in the future)
................................................................................
*NOTE: Unfortunately, there is no PwnageTool for Windows yet. That means if you care about a 3G unlock it is NOT safe for Windows users to jailbreak and update to 2.2 yet. If you don't care about a 3G unlock there is a Windows version of QuickPwn linked below. Read the rules below carefully, from Dev-Team blog:

1. GOLDEN RULE: If you have a 3G iPhone and want potential soft unlock in the near future do NOT use QuickPwn, and do not use the official ipsw or the iTunes update process without using PwnageTool.
2. Read item 1 again and again.
3. At the bottom of this post are the bittorrent files for the latest versions of PwnageTool and QuickPwn.
4. These are suitable for the recent 2.2 release.
5. Please read all parts of this post before downloading and using these tools.
6. The ‘late 2008’ MacBook/air/pro line of computers have an issue with DFU mode, it is possible to go from Pwned 2.1 -> 2.2 but going from stock to Pwned does not work, if in any doubt use a different machine.
7. Choosing the correct tool is crucial. Be warned!

NOTE: ‘Simple Mode’ in PwnageTool currently only works for the iPod Touch. To use PwnageTool foriPhones you will need to use ‘Expert mode’. This is a workaround while we make an update and fix this issue. In order to do this you will need to navigate to the “General” window and change two things: Deselect “activate” ONLY if you are normally able to activate through iTunes (but if you wish to ‘hacktivate’ the iPhone using PwnageTool then leave it selected). You will also need to change the partition size to about 1000MB (type in the value or use the slider).

Baseband 101
The ‘baseband’ is the generic name given to the internal components of the iPhone that handle the phone calls and Internet access. This ‘baseband’ is a tiny and unique independent computer system that runs inside your iPhone, it is separate to the main system that handles the applications (such as email and google maps) and it talks to the main part of the phone over an internal communications network. Think of it like a cable modem or other peripheral that is attached to your home PC that needs occasional updates. When a software update is released and presented to you within iTunes the baseband is sometimes updated (to fix bugs or add new features). The 2.2 update for the iPhone 3G contains such an update, so running the vanilla updater straight away with iTunes will reprogram and update the baseband. This could be bad for certain people, depending on your ultimate aim.

SIM Free/SP Unlocked/Factory Unlocked iPhone 3G
This applies if you bought your iPhone 3G for $$$$$$$. This model of iPhone 3G doesn’t have an Service Provider lock (aka factory unlocked) and you are able to put any SIM card into the phone and get service. Your phone is already unlocked so you do not need to worry about baseband updates, simply upgrade to 2.2 using iTunes and then use QuickPwn to Pwn and Jailbreak. This will add Cydia and Installer too.

Locked iPhone 3G - Preserve Baseband
This applies if you have a locked iPhone 3G and you wish to update to 2.2 but preserve the iPhone’s current baseband software. Preserving the baseband will give you the maximum chance for any upcoming software unlock. To upgrade your phone to 2.2 and preserve the state of the baseband you need to create a custom .ipsw with PwnageTool. This custom .ipsw will not contain the baseband update but of course will still allow all the cool new stuff from 2.2.

There are plenty of tutorials about this process on the web, but PwnageTool contains intuitive graphics and easy to follow prompts that should have you up and running in no time at all.

Locked iPhone 3G
If you are using your iPhone with one carrier and have no interest in the possibility of an iPhone 3G unlock in the near future then just restore or upgrade to 2.2 using iTunes and use QuickPwn to Jailbreak and add Cydia and Installer.

Locked iPhone 2G (1st Generation)
Restore your iPhone 2G with iTunes then run QuickPwn to do the magic, ‘nuff said.

iPod Touch 1G (Original iPod Touch)
Update to 2.2 with iTunes and run QuickPwn.

iPod Touch 2G (New iPod Touch)
Sorry, no support at this time.

Need Downgrade iPhone Firmware 2.2 To 2.1

If you reach this page, meaning that you already upgrade your iPhone firmware to 2.2 and now you cannot use your iPhone (unlock/jailbreak iPhone). You did miss to read the WARNING MESSAGE DO NOT UPGRADE YET from Dev-Team right. Since firmware update v 2.2 also updates baseband there is no easy way to restore back to firmware v 2.1. So, what now? It seems that today is your lucky day. One of Unlock/Jailbreak iPhone user Keith managed to downgrade his iPhone 3G to version 2.1 after updating to 2.2, and he was kind enough to share with us the full procedure as follows.

For downgrading iPhone Firmware 2.2 to an earlier version you will need to downgrade the baseband and firmware, you'll need all this :

1. ZiPhone Patched by kIRemk
2. QuickPwn v2.1
3. Apple iTunes
4. Firmware IPSW files : v2.1 (3G) or v2.1 (2G)

Now, assumed you already download all the software, follow the step below carefully:

1. Use Ziphone to downgrade the baseband using the settings as shown below

2. Now restore the firmware to an earlier version using the IPSW file via iTunes, if you receive errors during this procedure simply ignore and proceed further.

3. Now, use Quickpwn to unlock and jailbreak using the same firmware flash file used to restore in previous step.

4. Your iPhone should be jailbroken and unlocked now.

2.2 Firmware Details From Dev-Team

iPhone Firmware 2.2 has been released and Dev-Team already give a warning not to download this Firmware yet if you want to make sure your unlock/jailbreak iPhone usable. Read it from previous post here.
......................................................
Detailed from Dev-Team :

We can confirm that this update SHOULD NOT be applied using iTunes if you want the chance of a soft-unlock in the near future.

If you want to keep that option of a ‘soft-unlock in the near future’ available but you want the new features of 2.2, you will be able to update to 2.2 using a PwnageTool created custom ipsw file that disables the baseband update. You will be able to do this using an updated version of PwnageTool that will be released sometime soon.

Some facts -

  • The 2.2 firmware for 3G contains a baseband update for the 3G iPhone
  • The 2.2 firmware for 2G (1st gen iPhones) doesn’t contain a baseband update and the baseband is still at 04.05.04
  • We believe that our Pwnage technique (and therefore the Jailbreak) isn’t affected, but PwnageTool and QuickPwn do not support this release as yet, so DO NOT install 2.2 using iTunes as you will lose your jailbreak
  • If you apply this update and you previously relied on PwnageTool or QuickPwn to activate your phone, it may become temporarily deactivated and unusable (until we release the new version of PwnageTool or QuickPwn).
  • PwnageTool and QuickPwn updates will be released as soon as possible that will allow a safe update path to 2.2 the release of these updates is inevitable but not imminent, we are creating the modifications right now and we need to put the new software through the usual testing process.
  • If you apply this update and you have third-party (non AppStore) applications that you rely on they will stop working.
  • 2G (1st gen) iPhone users who cannot wait for the new PwnageTool or QuickPwn can safely “Update” to 2.2 using iTunes, this will preserve the existing activation. However “restoring” to 2.2 using iTunes will return the iPhone to the unactivated state. If you are in any doubt just wait. NB: This works for 2G ONLY.
  • The use of SIM-Proxies (small circuit boards/chips that sit underneath the SIM card) to provide GSM/UMTS service on your locked iPhone 3G is a method that we have always advised against. Early reports suggest that the 2.2 update disables the functionality of these devices. The techniques used were always unreliable and we are surprised that they have lasted this long.
  • We are not working on the 2nd generation iPod touch at the moment, so we cannot comment on what the the 2.2 software update may do to this specific model
So, as always, if you are in any doubt whatsoever please delay the install of this firmware on any of your devices until we have investigated the release in more detail.

Free Software To Unlock/Jailbreak iPhone

I know this is not the latest news. I'm posting this topic (Jailbreak/Unlock Using ZiPhone Software) just to give another options to iPhone user, especially for those who are using 1st generation iPhone.

Actually, if you're searching around online, there's a lot of free software you can get to unlock the 1st generation iPhone. While I'm still using iPhone (1st generation), I'm using ZiPhone to unlock and jailbreak my iPhone because it is the easiest (3 click only). Maybe, you might read that lot of rumors said that ZiPhone will "brick" your iPhone. I'm disagree with that, because I never have a problem using ZiPhone even after I'm upgrading the firmware from 1.1.4 to 2.0 using Pwnage Tools. Ok, enough with the crap, here's the link for software to Unlock/Jailbreak iPhone 1st generation only.

Just One More Step, Unlock For iPhone 3G - Dev Team

In their latest post, Dev-Team has announced that they are one step closer to a 3G unlock.
Below is what they said.... plus video update

......................................................................................

Persistent Nucleus Tasks from iphonedev on Vimeo.

This ability we now have to spawn background tasks means we are one step closer to the 3G soft unlock. We have a clear path to follow, and “all” that remains is the implementation.

A quick summary of the key 3G-unlock-related achievements we’ve made so far:

  1. Unsigned code execution on 3G baseband
  2. Reverting 01.45 baseband to previous versions
  3. Patching of static text (the AT&V demo)
  4. Injection of AT routines (the task list demo)
  5. Injection of background tasks (this demo)

Now it’s on to overriding the baseband code that enforces the carrier lock.

A high-quality version of the video is available via bittorrent here.

P.S. That “One more thing!” text is being generated by the backgrounded “steve” task at 5-second intervals. The “A0” is the task’s priority.

P.P.S. Remember…don’t update to official 2.2 when it comes out if you ultimately want a 3G soft unlock!

...........................................................................

It's even close now. Can't wait to unlock my 3G iPhone.
Are you using iPhone 3G? So, what do you think about this update? Please leave your opinion in a comments. Thanks.

Now users can have a Dock for work, a Dock for games, or a Dock for whatever they need.

Users can store sets of Dock items by clicking the New Snapshot button, which will take a look at all the application and file icons in the Dock, and store what appears as a "snapshot" of their Dock, directly inside the Docks window. Once a Snapshot is saved, reordering and renaming Snapshots is also available through keyboard shortcuts or directly in the menu.

A menu bar item (next to the Menu Extras such as the Clock) is available for conveniently switching between Docks by name, without showing the applications window. There are also global hot-keys the user can set to either take a new Snapshot or to show the Docks application window.

Requirements :
  • Mac OS X 10.5
  • Docks comes with a free, fully functional 30-day trial (Download trial zip file 1,35 mb)

Do Not Install iPhone Firmware 2.2 Yet!!!!!

"YES! DO NOT INSTALL/DOWNLOAD iPHONE CUSTOM FIRMWARE 2.2 UPDATE YET". Especially for those using Unlock/Jailbreak iPhoneThese warns been shout out by Dev Team. They did mention that by installing this updates on your iPhone could affect your chances of any software unlock in the near future.

.....................................................................

Now for something a bit more serious, we’ve explained about the pros and cons of applying Apple’s updates in the past and we’ve warned against the immediate installation of these updates without knowing what they do to your device.

This is indeed true of the iPhone 3G’s upcoming 2.2 release. Installing ‘2.2’ on the iPhone 3G could affect your chances of any software unlock in the near future (should one be found and released), so when you see an update in iTunes await our instructions first!

Please don’t blindly install the update and then complain about it later ;-)

SB Settings 1.0 Will Be Released This Weekend

BigBoss has completed all major work on SBSettings v1.0 and final testing is underway with an expected release this weekend.

SBSettings is a replacement for BossPrefs. It moves your important toggles directly into Springboard where they are always available instantly even while other apps are running.
...........................................................................

From Author of BigBoss,

I have completed all major work on SBSettings v1.0 and am now just testing. The changes (that I can remember) are:

1) Brightness toggle / slider added

2) Themes added. We now have 8 addon themes. I have selected 2 of these (HUD and Tech Shadows) to be distributed with the core. The rest we can release as theme addons along with the v1.0 release.

3) Dock added. You can add your settings apps to a dock. Then there is a dock button to show the dock and launch your apps. This allows you to clear them off your springboard (like Bossprefs dock).

4) Fully preventing the app from loading while on lock screen. Too many complaints about app being accidentally opened and draining battery or toggling things off.

5) Home button now closes main window in addition to little X that was hard to press.

I have a couple help screen documents to write before the release can go out and am waiting on some small updates from iPodTouchMaster on the “more” app, but otherwise I am currently testing the code-complete springboard addon. It should be out before the end of the weekend.

Remember, I am on pacific time so I have until Midnight Sunday :)

You pay for an ESD product just like you would for one that would be physically shipped to you. The big difference is that after your payment is confirmed, you can immediately download the product to your computer and install it right away. There is no longer any need to pay for shipping costs and waiting for the big brown truck to drive across the country. You’ll be able to enjoy your software almost immediately – all it takes is the download time of the product, which will vary depending on the size of the digital download.

Buyers also can re-download the product until mainstream support for the product ends. Typically this is 5 years after the product is released. You always have the option of copying the downloaded products to physical media if you want to have it available longer than the mainstream support lifetime.

Hopefully Microsoft will widen their Store availability to more country, so everyone will be available to buy Microsoft products online. Go to Microsoft Store Online

A New Touch

What has Apple changed in the new iPod Touch?
When the first generation iPod Touch was launched last year, it really blew our minds. The second generation of iPod Touchlook just like the predecessor but a
At back, is modeled after the iPhone 3G, where it is contoured in such a way that it feels thinner tha the first generation and the sides are now chromed instead of matte grey in the older version.

on iPhone but it is still not loud enough as compared to some of the MP3 players out on the market. Apple also integrated volume buttons on the iPod Touch, and the volume can be adjust from within the pocket instead of taking it out.The significant change is the inclusion of a speaker. The speakers are a tad louder than the ones. Closer inspection showed that it's a totally new device.

Surfing the internet on the 3.5 inch is really superb. It also can be used to watch movie. Another great things about this second generation of iPod Touch is, integration with Nike+ application and receiver into the iPod Touch. All you have to do is a transceiver in your Nike shoes and you're ready to go. the application will calculates your calories burned, distance travelled and many more.

As a conclusion, the second generation of iPod Touch is a huge improvement from it's predecessor. Especially, the volume button. But, it might be much better if the button can do more function not just adjusting the volume.

New beta Installer Apps Release by Rip Dev

Rip Dev has released their latest updates for Installer apps (Installer 4.0b9). According to them, this new updates will be much more a lot new fix and features, such as :

  • Added user-driven ratings. We encourage you to submit your votes for various packages. Once more data will be collected (in a few days), that will be reflected on the Featured page.
  • SpringBoard is no longer terminated after the software was installed or removed.
  • Proxies are (again) supported. The support was broken after we moved to libcurl.
  • Introduced download timeouts (again) that were disabled after the move to libcurl.
  • Reworked many parts of the engine in an effort to get rid of the occasional GUI stalls.
  • If a particular source fails to update, it will be moved to "disabled" state for 6 hours and will not be included in the all sources refresh process. The disabled state is listed as the source icon with a red "stop" sign over it. This is done to prevent unnecessary stalls at the sources refresh if one of the sources goes offline for whatever reason. If you'd like to retry it before 12 hour interval, open its info and hit Refresh button there.
  • Removed customInfo support as it was mostly used for unnecessary ads that were disturbing many people. These pages are normally reachable from the "More Info" link.
  • Much better error reporting. Forget these "error 3"s and such. The descriptions are much more human readable now. And for script errors, it will show an actual script command that caused an error.
  • Installer will prevent iPhone/iPod touch from sleeping when it's downloading or installing something.
  • The app icon badge should behave better now.
  • Lots of smaller fixes and optimizations I won't list.
I'm hoping that, this updates won't be the last. It's been awhile since their last updates.
The Installer apps updates is available for download now. Users can download through iPhone via wireless connection.

Windows 7 Pre-Release Activation Code

Windows 7 pre-release has already been around for awhile, it has been leaked to internet for free download. But, like usual, it can only be used for 30 days and up to 120 days using re-arm hack.

Users that already have an activation key (product key) for Windows Vista beta RC (release candidate) that has been launch by Microsoft for around 2 years back can re-use it to activate Windows 7 build version 6801 (32 and 64 bit) edition.

It's been 2 years, and I don't think a lot of people still have those product key anymore, and some of it might already been blacklisted already. So, you might hit the bonus today.

Here’s a list of 15 Multiple Activation Key (MAK) which is the genuine legit product key for Windows 7 activation. Each product key can be used for unlimited number of client system activation, unlike a Windows Vista beta Release Candidates (RC) which limited to activate up to 10 copies of installed system.

iPhone Bluetooth Unlock Progress

If you're using Unlock/Jailbreak iPhone (PwNage/WinPwn/QuickPwn), you might realize that the bluetooth is not functioning. But, lot of users doesn't mind about this function because it's already came with WiFi.
Yesterday, good news came from iSpazio about progress work on iPhone bluetooth. According to an iSpazio reports, MeDevil (http://iphonebluetooth.tk/) have made some interesting progress on the project. They were able to search and find two other bluetooth devices (a sony ericsson phone and an hackintosh) from the iPhone.

Since the details is in Italy (iSpazio.net), I've got the translation details from iClarified.

Here are some details on what they have achieved:
1. We have been able to initialise bluetooth in objective-c, linking to apples private frameworks, through only reverse engineering.
2. We were able to talk in raw Host Controller Interface code, i.e. close to binary communications, using only POSIX functions that are available in any standard C library.
3. To do that we had to initialise the BlueCore6-ROM type integrated circuit found on the iPhone 3g over a UART transport, formulate HCI packets and read the response.

Unfortunately there is no gui (as it is dialogue with the chipset) ... The photos more interesting is the third, or one with the inscription "Exiting."
a) an index of an array that is not added (for which there is always the same address for all devices found bluetooth)
b) the word "Cod: 302104" and "Cod: 5a0204", which identifies the "Class of device" (that is the type of device and some of the features supported).
For point (b), the
devices listed (respectively a computer with usb bluetooth dongle and a sony ericsson K550i) did not find menu bluetooth dell'iphone precisely because of their class of device.

Download Windows 7 Multi Touch Screen Driver

This is among the best thing ever been developed by Microsoft recently (Multi Touch Screen). It help a lot in improving and simplify the way users interact with their computers. I must admit that it is much more direct and natural. The deployment of this function on HP Touchsmart (Models IQ504, IQ506, IQ804, IQ816) recently, receive quite positive response from the public.

Microsoft ke
ep on developing this multitouch function to the greater level, because everybody knows this multitouch technology will be a new trend in just a matter of time.

The great news, if you're developer who is keen to know and exploring Windows 7 multitouch capabilities, you can download the driver from NextWindows site after submitting some basic information.

Download VLC Player for iPhone (VLC4iPhone)

vlc4iphone - Media and streaming radio player from ZodTTD - Now available for download via the Cydia iPhone Installer Apps.
ZodTTD claim that, from this release it is include the ability to stream video (TV), and audio content from a PC to iPhone. It even has a ShoutCast internet radio browser and player.
..............................
He added, in this release I have fixed many bugs, including the dreaded bug that caused many people not to see video in the last beta release. Some codecs (RTMP for instance) are still missing, and depending on the demand for them, I will add them and update to a later VLC version as well.
The only drawback is performance of videos of resolutions of 640x480 or greater. What I've done is lowered the decoding resolution of many formats of video at this resolution so now you are able to be play them at decent speeds. The quality of the picture suffers however. I suggest users of vlc4iphone to use videos of 320x240 resolution if possible.

Use Windows Seven For 120 Using ReArm

For the first time if you install Windows Seven onto your PC or Laptop, you can use it for 30 days without entering product key known as evaluation period. But after 30 day periods end, you need to install it again. During the 30 day activation free grace period, user does not need to activate Windows 7 and can be use in full functionality. Product activation function will keep reminding user how many days left to input a product key and activate the system in order to continue using the operating system beyond 30 days.

The good news is, also equip with a secret rearm key in order to reset the free 30 day evaluation period limitation. Microsoft provides 3 times of available rearm count. So, by using this rearm hack, user can reset and extend the activation grace period for up to 3 times. In a simple word, user can use Windows Seven for 120 or 4 month without any product key.

The rearm trick on Windows Seven can be done using similar command and step with Windows Vista.

Follow these steps to reset and extend activation grace period from 30 days to 120 days on Windows 7:

1. Install W7 without any activation product key

2. After installation is complete, use it for 30 days and wait for the remaining days left to activate Windows counting down to 0, or almost zero,

3. When the activation grace period almost ended, log on to W7 desktop and open a "Command Prompt" , also can be done by type cmd in Start Search and then hit Enter.

4. Type any of the following commands into the command prompt, and then hit Enter:

sysprep /generalize
slmgr.vbs –rearm

rundll32 slc.dll,SLReArmWindows

slmgr /rearm

5. Reboot W7, and enjoy using it for another 30 more days without product key

6. Repeat step 3-5 again when the grace time period close to zero once again. Need to remember, this rearm only works for 3 times only, make sure each time the command is only been run when the 30 days countdown is almost expired.

Enjoy!

Bad News To Unlock/Jailbreak iPhone Using Pwnage

For Unlock/Jailbreak iPhone users, this is not a good news. According to Gizmodo's report, Pwnage Tools has been dissalowed from detecting an iPhone in DFU mode on the new MacBook. This is mean another "war" from Mac against Jailbreak.
They added that when you're running Pwn on a new MacBook, the process will run like usual untill it comes to DFU mode. The main problem is, it is a vital point to Jailbreak an iPhone/iPod in DFU mode, or else it will be nothing. It says that, iPhone/iPod cannot be detected in DFU mode. This problem has been reported from HowardForums and iPodTouchFans.

.................................
It's a very specific problem, too — the tool still runs, and users who have a pre-modified firmware created on another Mac or Windows machine are able to 'restore' their devices to a jailbroken state without any trouble. It's the creation of modified firmware, which is the central purpose of the Pwnage tool, that has been kneecapped................... Read more here

Apple Investigating About Glass TrackPad Problem On New MacBook

One of MacBook users complaint email to Steve Jobs resulted a callback from Apple. Email has been sent to Steve Jobs about his frustration over problem with glass trackback on MacBook Pro thet he just bought.

Here's what the email is:

I mostly love my new MacBook Pro - but one thing that has been driving me slightly insane is that the trackpad misses clicks sometimes. You hear and feel the click - it just doesn’t register the click. I’ve read through the Apple discussion forums and found many people all over are having this problem. My cousin’s MacBook has it as well, so it’s not a small issue and it doesn’t just affect the MacBook Pro.

So last week I decided to email Steve Jobs himself. I didn’t expect a reply, but I figured someone must read his email, and it’d be a good idea to get the problem to the attention of some of the people higher up in Apple so that the news comes at them from the top and the bottom (via AppleCare).

MacBook & MacBook Pro Disassembled

A few weeks ago, iFixit has provided a disassembly guide of both MacBook and MacBook Pro. Yhey pointed out an interesting observation for users.

MacBook Pro Disassembly (step by step guide here)

  • The keyboard is now more similar to the old MacBook than the previous MacBook Pro. While the unibody case is very cool, this is going to make keyboard repair difficult (read 56 screws to replace the keyboard).
  • Replacing the hard drive is significantly easier on this machine than the previous MacBook Pro.
  • The interior is cleaner and flows together better than the previous Pro.
  • The Montevina chipset appears to up to 8GB ram even though Apple says 4.
  • Two Nvidia chips! GeForce 9400M, which only runs 16 processor cores and 54 Gigaflops and GeForce 9600M GT, which has 32 processor cores and is capable of 120 Gigaflops.
  • Airport and Bluetooth both in display assembly. Airport serviceable, bluetooth not.
MacBook Disassembly (step by step guide here)

  • 12 percent thinner than its predecessor (0.95 in vs. 1.08 in) and 10 percent lighter (4.5 pounds vs. 5 pounds).
  • There's a new Mini DisplayPort and a complete lack of a FireWire port.
  • Replacing the hard drive is easy (one screw).
  • Seven screws to get to RAM
  • The Montevina chipset appears to support up to 8GB ram although Apple says 4
  • High quality on par with the Macbook Pro.

Only 6GB of RAM, not 8GB! MacBooks

When the new MacBooks and MacBook Pro was first disassembled, it seems like the chipset can handle up to 8GB of RAM, 4GB more that Apple says it can handle. But, after a few test, it seems that it is not, MacBooks and MacBooks Pro only can handle up to 6GB of RAM only. So, if you intent to put a bigger RAM, than you need to prepares you wallet too.
